2024 National Aquatics Conference begins in:

What is it?

The National Aquatics Conference is Scouting’s biennial conference for volunteers and professionals charged with delivering aquatics programs across the Scouting movement! Scouting America’s National Aquatics Conference features elective sessions, outstanding keynote speakers, and fellowship with Scouting’s national aquatics committee and Scouters from across the country.

Who should attend?

Anyone and everyone involved in national, territory, council, district, and unit aquatics program delivery. 

When

September 25-29, 2024

The National Aquatics Conference will feature  elective sessions, keynote events led by distinguished industry experts, peer-to-peer informal discussion groups, and many other learning opportunities that will be offered. The National Aquatics Conference begins Wednesday at dinner on September 25th and concludes Sunday morning, September 29. 

Where

Bert Adams Scout Camp

The conference will take place at Bert Adams Scout Camp, located right outside of Atlanta Georgia. The address is 218 Boy Scout Road, Covington Georgia. Download directions here.

Conference Details

Cost

The cost per person is $290 and includes housing, meals and program during the conference. All fees are due at the time of registration.

Conference Attire

Casual dress is perfect for this conference. 

Climate

Some of the scheduled programming will take place outdoors. While daytime temperatures in September can be in the low to mid 70’s, it may get chilly at night. Please bring suitable bedding, warm clothing, rain gear, and a hat.

Transportation

Bert Adams Scout Camp is located in Covington Georgia, outside of Atlanta Georgia. Transportation from the airport will not be provided; however, we will provide contact information of anyone who can take riders or who also wants to share rides from and to the Atlanta airport. 

Facilities and Meals

Meals begin with dinner on September 25 and conclude with breakfast on September 29 (11 meals total). Please indicate any special dietary needs you may have in the dietary needs section of your online registration.

Housing will be in BSA-style platform tents with foam mattresses. Bedding/linens will not be provided. If you need access to electricity for a CPAP machine, please bring an extension cord.

Medical Form

A BSA Annual Health and Medical Record (Parts A & B & C) completed within the past 12 months, is required. Please be prepared to submit this form upon arrival.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations before August 30, 2024 will incur a $50 processing fee per person. Late cancellations, after August 30, 2024, will incur a $100 processing fee per person. All other paid fees will be refunded. All refund requests must be in writing to outdoorprograms@scouting.org.

Bray Barnes

Bray Barnes is a recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, Silver
Beaver, Silver Antelope, Silver Buffalo, and Learning for Life Distinguished
Service Award. He received the Messengers of Peace Hero award from
the royal family of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and he’s a life member of
the 101st Airborne Association and Vietnam Veterans Association. Barnes
serves as a senior fellow for the Global Federation of Competitiveness
Councils, a nonpartisan network of corporate CEOs, university presidents, and
national laboratory directors. He has also served as a senior executive for the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security, leading the first-responder program
and has two U.S. presidential appointments

David Alexander

David Alexander is a Baden-Powell Fellow, Summit Bechtel Reserve philanthropist, and recipient of the Silver Buffalo and Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. He is the founder of Caljet, one of the largest independent motor fuels terminals in the U.S. He has served the Arizona Petroleum Marketers Association, Teen Lifeline, and American Heart Association. A triathlete who has completed hundreds of races, Alexander has also mentored the women’s triathlon team at Arizona State University.

Glenn Adams is a recipient of the Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope, Silver Buffalo, and Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. He is the former president of the National Eagle Scout Association and established the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award. He has more than 40 years of experience in the oil, gas, and energy fields, including serving as a president, owner, and CEO. Adams has also received multiple service awards from the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.
