Supply List

  • 60-yard roll of 1-inch blue painter’s tape

Objective:

Follow the correct commands when given by the game leader to jump in or out of the “pool”.

Set-Up:

Mark a circle with a 10-foot diameter on the floor using the blue painter’s tape.  You may need to adjust the size of the circle depending on the number of players.  There should be enough space for all players to stand outside of the circle and be able to jump into the circle without colliding with one another.

Directions

Arrange everyone on the outside of the circle.  Pick someone to be the lifeguard.  When the lifeguard says “In the pool” everyone jumps into the circle.  When the lifeguard says “Buddy check!” everyone jumps out of the circle.  If everyone is already in the circle and the lifeguard says “In the pool” no one should move; if someone does jump out, they now become the Lifeguard.

The only two real commands are “in the pool” and “buddy check!”; however, the lifeguard can say “out of the pool” to try and catch someone or “where is your buddy?”.
