  • Sheet of paper, one for each Cub Scout
  • Pencil or pen, one for each Cub Scout
  • Timer

Before the meeting:

  1. Write the names of animals on slips of paper. Create enough for each Cub Scout to have two or three animals. Place slips of paper in hat.
  2. Set up meeting space with room free of obstacles and allow for Cub Scouts to move about.

During the meeting:

  1. Explain that each of them will be acting out an animal for the other Cub Scouts to guess. They are not allowed to use their voice and need to use gestures when acting out the animal. The audience will write down what they think the animal is being acted out.
  2. Hand out the paper and pencils.
  3. Have one Cub Scout select their animal from the paper slip in the hat. Set a timer for 2 minutes.
  4. At the end of the time, Cub Scouts in the audience should write down their guess.
  5. Have the next Cub Scout act out an animal. Do this until everyone has had one turn.
  6. Compare answers.
  7. Do another round if possible.
  8. Ask Cub Scouts what they found easy and difficult when guessing.
