Senior Development Director
Position Overview

Develops and delivers on plans and strategies to prospect and close short and long funding, annual giving, events, major gifts, grants, endowment, and capital campaigns for the council. Supervises and gives leadership to one or more staff members and is accountable for departments measurable goals. Develops and guides volunteer committees to support plans and strategies.
Responsibilities
The position is responsible to meet all fund support goals by actively cultivating and soliciting current and new funding opportunities while developing strategies for broader donor base.
Develops strategies to cultivates donors to acquire major gifts, capital, and endowment contributions.
Manages council grant program and continusly increases the number of grants the council receives.
Develops budgets and the council meets its operation funds.
Manages and coaches assigned staff to achieve council objectives.
Maintains records of development staff performance.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required
Qualifications
Requires 3-5 years of experience in fund development.
Must have the ability to effectively lead teams, community in various forms, manage budgets, read financial statements, plan and organize, manage workflow, collaborate, influence, and inspire.
Must be self motivated, energetic, quick learner, and trustworthy.
Must have business acumen with big picture outlook.
Position requires for visual acuity to read information from electronic screen, forms, and other printed materials along with hearing acuity for verbal communication, conversation, face to face interactions, virtual interactions, and phone communication.
Candidate must have a valid drivers license and a functional and insured vehicle.
Work is conducted both in an office setting but various meetings will be off location in indoor and outdoor settings.
Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
