Position Overview

Seeking a dynamic self-starter, with at least 6 years experience in Field Management as the Del-Mar-Va Council Field Director. Join a high-functioning team of experienced executives to support the growth of Scouting.  Supervises and gives guidance to five professionals in four districts.  Accountable for measurable achievements of the other professionals.  Serves as manager and operating officer of the districts and is responsible for the effective organization, operation, and promotion of the council program within the districts through the district executives.

Responsibilities
  • Guides the district executives to recruit, develop, and maintain effective volunteer management teams.
  • Maintains a professional working climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates top-quality volunteers.
  • Assures the districts have a long-range strategy and achieve their missions with consistent, timely progress.
  • Assures the flow of funds from the districts helps the council to achieve its mission. Assures that executive visits are made to heads of institutions annually to review leadership and quality items.
  • Evaluate the performance of staff and maintain records of their achievements and failures.
  • Develops the program budget, sand taffing requirements and ensures programs meet their stated objectives.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Education
  •  Bachelors from an accredited college or university
Qualifications
  • 6 + years’ field experience preferred. Scouting experience is a plus.
  • Recommended: Leadership Development Series, Managing Performance, or First-Time Staff Leader Orientation
Physical Requirements
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials and information.
  • Hearing acuity for verbal communication, conversations, face-to-face interactions, and/or responses via telephone and telephone systems. S
  • Speaking ability for general communication and ability to clearly enunciate in conversations with others.
Licenses
  • Commissioned – District Operations Basic required

Salary or Salary Range: $68,000 -78,000
