Position: Supervisor of Program Administration

Position Overview

The Supervisor Program Administration plays a pivotal role in providing management of the Philmont training center and related services for the delivery of high-quality training for youth programs. In this leadership position, you will oversee the administration of various programs, working collaboratively with program managers to develop, implement, and evaluate impactful initiatives. You will be responsible for planning and developing delivery of training strategies and initiatives for our training center and also supervising, training, and mentoring employees to ensure the availability of a quality trained staff. If you are a strategic thinker you will have the opportunity to develop short and long term training goals, business plans, and budgets.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the training center, related services, and projects to ensure that facilities provide quality programs and services, focusing on customer service and building relationships.
  • Oversees the development and delivery of training programs to ensure the highest quality and safety of programs delivered, and that participants receive a rewarding experience.
  • Supervises, trains, and mentors employees to ensure the availability of a quality trained staff.
  • Plans, and develops short-term and long-term promotional campaigns and commitments for training center programs and conferences. Develops and maintains successful relationships throughout the community and volunteer organizations, focusing on marketing and attendance.
  • Responsible for the operational budget.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of: Adult learning principles and training methodologies; training curriculum development, design, and implementation; budget planning, administration, and financial management; customer service principles and relationship building strategies; community resources and potential partnerships with BSA, state and federal safety regulations relevant to training programs.
  • Skill in: Designing and delivering engaging and educational training programs compliant with safety regulations; leadership and team building; interpersonal communication and presentations; planning, organization, and time management; budget development and financial analysis; using computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Ability to: Motivate and mentor a staff of training personnel; build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders; adapt to changing program needs and priorities; handle confidential information with discretion; remain up to date with current best practices and compliance standards for adult learning and training safety.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in corporate training program administration, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.
Physical Requirements
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials and information.
  • Hearing acuity for verbal communication, conversations, face-to-face interactions, and/or responses via telephone and telephone systems.
  • Speaking ability for general communication and ability to clearly enunciate in conversations with others.

This role requires travel within an assigned territory and will include indoor and outdoor work in varying conditions. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Licenses

BSA Commissioned Professional preferred.
