Housekeeper
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our staff at Philmont, a premier outdoor education and adventure destination known for its commitment to youth development, environmental stewardship, and leadership training. As a Housekeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both staff and guests, providing quality housekeeping services to facilities that support Scouting America programs. To thrive in this role, you will need to take pride in your work, demonstrate a proactive approach to cleanliness, and be an excellent team player. You will collaborate closely with other team members to develop cleaning schedules and procedures that align with the organization’s operational needs. Your responsibilities will include a variety of cleaning tasks across our facility, and you will have the opportunity to engage with different departments to ensure that health standards are not only met but exceeded. You will also train and assist seasonal staff and maintain supply inventory. Responsibilities
- Performs inventory of supplies to ensure adequate stock is maintained.
- Provides housekeeping services of facilities and assigned areas. Notifies the appropriate party of issues and problems.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.

Education
- No minimum requirement.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
Qualifications
- 6 months of experience in housekeeping services
- Must pass a criminal history background check
Physical Requirements
- Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials and information.
- Hearing acuity for verbal communication, conversations, face-to-face interactions, and/or responses via telephone and telephone systems.
- Speaking ability for general communication and ability to clearly enunciate in conversations with others.
This is classification involves walking between work areas. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate cleaning equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to clean area. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
