Position Overview

Provides leadership to the achievement of the council’s philosophy, mission, and strategy, and to the achievement of the annual fundraising objectives and goals.

Prospects and closes short and long-term funding for the annual giving, grants, and special event programs for the council. May identify potential grant opportunities and provide oversight for proposal preparation. May cultivate, solicit, and acquire major gifts. Works closely with the Scout Executive to achieve the goals of the council’s strategic plan.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve fundraising goals set by Scout Executive/fundraising committees.
  • Serves as lead event coordinator for the Corpus Christi Friends of Scouting Breakfast.
  • Serves as lead event coordinator for special events including but not limited to Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner, Toughest Scout Challenge, and Fishing Tournament.
  • Serves as lead staff advisor to the Coastal Bend Day of Giving campaign.
  • Serves as lead staff advisor to the annual corporate sponsorship campaign.
  • Serves as lead staff advisor to the McIver Furman Legacy Society campaign.
  • Responsible for submitting United Way grant applications and reports as assigned.
  • Works closely with field staff to complete operating grants and reports.
  • Serves as staff advisor for the Friends of Scouting annual giving campaign supporting field service staff with campaign training and materials.
  • May identify potential grant opportunities and provide oversight for proposal preparation.
  • Assist in cultivating new donors for major gifts and annual Friends of Scouting campaign.
  • Develops the budget and portions of the council operating funds that are within the position responsibilities.
Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Qualifications
  • Commissioned Scouting Professional with two plus years’ experience(preferred).
  • Successful fundraising experience in annual giving campaigns and special events.

Salary or Salary Range: $55,000-/$60,000 annually

A triathlete who has completed hundreds of races, Alexander has also mentored the women’s triathlon team at Arizona State University.

Adams has also received multiple service awards from the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.
