Position Overview

The Information Technology team is looking for a candidate that is team oriented with excellent leadership skills and a strong working knowledge and understanding of Fundraising & Payment Systems to join our team as a Manager of Enterprise Systems. This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Systems.

In this role, you will have the awesome opportunity to lead a key product development team responsible for managing Scouting America’s Blackbaud Application and payment platforms for fundraising systems. This position develops programming and configuration of organization-specific, end-user applications, systems, software, databases, and/or websites for use by internal employees, local councils, members, and volunteers. Then manager of enterprise system leads the development and management of applications for use in fiscal management and human capital management including payroll, benefits administration, and employee benefits integration with 3rd party vendors, serves as the product owner for scrum teams focused on scaling value delivery through collaboration with business units and cross-functional IT software development teams, and manages technical specialists and support personnel for fundraising systems. Other responsibilities include scheduling, technical direction, future planning and software maintenance and support activities for applications in multiple business areas, utilizing in-depth technical and business knowledge of configurable off-the-self business applications to lead strategic business projects with complex integrations with other enterprise systems, and managing program framework for activities related to application budget, acquisition, maintenance, integration, and support projects.  Evaluating vendor-supplied software packages and makes recommendations to IT management to utilize and incorporate these products for enterprise business solutions will also be a key responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as the product owner and manages scrum teams focused on the entire life cycle management of a technology/digital products including purpose, definition, design, planning, development, prototyping, and testing.
  • Responsible for leadership of the staff, including establishing job duties and position requirements, hiring, training, motivating, reviewing performance, and rewarding performance. Serves as an escalation point for issues; resolves conflicts involving scheduling, resources, and technical problems.
  • Manages vendor relationships with managed services that support enterprise applications.
  • Implements procedures to manage, monitor and support the production system’s environments ensuring that regular maintenance, contract renewals, and upgrades/patches are scheduled and implemented as required.
  • Provides management oversight throughout the project development and deployment process to ensure that application improvements are successfully implemented. Analyzes requirements, tests, and integrates application components. Has accountability for the performance and results.
  • Works with department manager to prepare departmental budget and participates in developing future roadmaps for enterprise systems. Responsible for assessing project risk, cost, and benefits of new projects to justify projects’ funding to top executives and determine long and short-term department personnel needs including staffing plans. Plans, develops, and monitors operating and project budget making sure to stay within estimated projections.
  • Coaches, mentors, and sets employee performance objectives and conducts performance reviews.
  • Ensures good communication with customers, new development project managers, and management.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for vendor management and overseeing managed services teams supporting the fundraising and payment applications.
  • Lead projects to implement software maintenance and production support activities.

Job Competencies:

Knowledge of:  Leading teams; business acumen; how to manage daily operations of large ERP systems with managed services as part of the support model.

Skill in: Coaching and developing others; operational decision making; configurable off the shelf enterprise systems; complex integration technologies.

Ability to: Maintain quality orientation and communicate compellingly.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in managing and supporting fundraising business processes and applications. Proven experience in project management, managing budgets, staffing plans, project accounting, and staff development. Experience with fundraising business processes and fundraising reporting systems configuration and production support. Must have extensive experience with system integration, business process mapping, complex data analysis and reporting for fundraising activities. Working knowledge of fundraising initiatives.
  • Must pass a criminal background check
