Ranch Hands, Order of the Arrow Trail Crew, and R.O.C.S. are work-for-trek programs; fees are reduced or waived in return for service to the ranch. |
While these fees are very reasonable, there are many other factors
to consider, such as training and promotion, travelling to Philmont,
side trips and tours, and other costs that may be incurred. The
budget worksheet should be helpful in
planning for these expenses.
Scholarships
If you have young people who need financial assistance to attend
Philmont, check with your local Scout service center about the
availability of scholarship money. Regional offices usually make
allocations in January to the local councils.
