Induction Ceremony, Part 1

Induction Ceremony, Part 2

National Hall of Leadership

Judging is complete and the final roster of inductees has been assembled.

The BSA 100th Anniversary National Hall of Leadership is not a hall or building in the traditional sense, but its purpose is just as significant. The National Hall of Leadership provided an opportunity for anyone to recognize outstanding leadership by a Scout, registered leader or Scouting volunteer who made a significant difference in the life of another by the extraordinary service they have given and the Scouting virtues they have modeled.

The National Hall of Leadership was created as part of our 100th Anniversary Celebration to gather these powerful stories and share the significant and positive impact Scouting leadership has on the quality of life in the communities we serve. And, wow, more than 7,000 nominations shared amazing and inspiring stories! All nomination stories will be part of the BSA 100th Anniversary archive at the National Scouting Museum.

One individual was selected from each council to represent all the nominees of their council and the gift of leadership given by the Scouts and scouters of that council to the communities they serve each year.

Our country will never outgrow the need for thoughtful leadership, and will never outgrow the need for individuals who choose to live their lives by the Scout Oath and Law... and teach others to do the same. As we head into our next century, our Scouts and Scouters will still be there to lead the way, just as we have for the past 100 years!

View the complete list of Hall of Leadership inductees and their names included in a downloadable BSA 100th Anniversary Hall of Leadership design suitable for a banner or poster! An image of the National Hall of Leadership award plaque is available for use with publicity materials about your council’s inductee.

A recognition plaque for the inductee of each council will be provided to Scout executives for presentation at an appropriate local gathering.

Our communities are better places to live, work, and play because of leadership — expressed in extraordinary acts of service — by Scouts, Scouters, and Scouting volunteers over generations.
